However, with contracts based on traditional design workflow and deliverables focused on 2D drawings, clients are left withsee limited productivity improvements. This article looks at what AECOM is doing to drive innovation and the changes that will deliver faster, smarter, and better designs.Innovation in the construction industry has significantly ramped up in the last decade due to three core themes emerging within the design arena. Architects have seized the benefits of linking visual scripting to parametric design workflow, allowing them to explore exciting new forms and geometries which could be honed and iterated much quicker compared to traditional methods.Consequently, engineers who are supporting design teams on projects such as major stadiums have often merged into these processes to provide the essential engineering analysis as well as efficient and effective routes into fabrication and construction. Interestingly a lot of the documentation has remained 2D for traditional red pen design reviews on projects using such geometry.
