Constructing buildings by implementing practices that minimise environmental impacts, enhancing energy efficiency and prioritising the well-being of the occupants for a sustainable future.
FREMONT, CA: Global building emissions account for 39 per cent of energy-related CO2 emissions, totalling 9.7 gigatons of carbon dioxide (GtCO2). According to data, worldwide building emissions increased by 2 per cent, increasing the buildings' influence on climate change. The construction industry is progressing toward green buildings with a comprehensive strategy to reduce their environmental impact in response to growing worries about climate change.
Throughout its existence, these buildings provide equal weight to human comfort, resource efficiency, and environmental preservation, considering everything from energy and material use to tenant well-being.
Green buildings reduce their negative environmental effects by using less water and energy, producing less waste, and using sustainable materials. In a wider sense, environmentally friendly buildings protect biodiversity, save resources, and lessen pollution.
Although it embraces sustainability, it doesn't take the same all-encompassing strategy as green buildings. As a subset of green buildings, net zero buildings strive for energy balance—generating as much energy as they consume. Green buildings are more than just environmentally friendly; actively support holistic sustainability and regeneration throughout their existence.
Green buildings prioritise human well-being over environmental benefits by including better interior air quality, natural light, and thermal comfort.
