Through its touchless technology, Artificial intelligence plays a crucial role in the hospitality industry, offering significant advantages such as improving consumer satisfaction and increased productivity.

FREMONT, CA: Hoteliers are upping their game to deliver on commitments and ensure safe, clean, and germ-free environments in the travel and hospitality industry. Pedestrian traffic environments are full of frequently touched surfaces, making them susceptible to bacteria and germs. The next technology must-have will be innovation that prevents physical contact with frequently used touchpoints.

Touchless technology and artificial intelligence (AI): The hospitality industry is already integrating AI to deliver in-person customer service. In fact, some of the simplest solutions use built-in AI to improve human interaction.

Gesture recognition enables human-machine interaction using only body gestures instead of voice commands. Rather than pressing buttons or tapping a keypad, hand gestures, and finger motions are used as commands. By reading these movements and gestures, the AI system provides the user with a natural interface.

By 2026, the gesture recognition and touchless sensing market are estimated to reach USD $37.6 billion, with North America holding the largest share. According to MarketsandMarkets Strategic Insights, the global AI market is expected to reach USD $190.61 billion by 2025.

Experience with elevators: Elevators are one of the most hands-on, high-use activities in hotels. Since there is no lag time between uses, interrupting operations for regular cleaning intervals hinders the customer experience.
