When leaders spend time planning and setting out the blueprints for success, their people will see a strategy in place, understand their position, and trust that the change is for the company’s benefit.

FREMONT, CA: New corporate procedures, new safety requirements, and new technology deployments are examples of change. The good news is that these developments can offer growth and opportunity to the building industry. That is why construction executives must begin planning for how new developments will affect their organization and employees, both directly and indirectly, and take action to ensure everyone’s success. Here are three ways to guide mobile workforce teams through change:

Establish trust and secure buy-in

Fear of the unknown is one of the most significant barriers to adopting new technology. Employees may not always comprehend why new technologies are being implemented or how they can affect their job security. Leaders must earn their employees’ trust to avert further resistance. Making technology users a part of the purchasing decision is the first step. The more people from all levels of your company are involved in technology deployments from the start, the more advocates you’ll have to promote the new technology. Then establish a strategy for implementation, including project benchmarks, timetables, and supervisor check-ins.
