Building managers have resorted to Building Management Systems (BMS) as one of their most valuable tools to minimize energy use in buildings.


Fremont, CA: In the recent wave of smart building design, BMS became popular. Their primary goal is to automate and regulate important mechanical and electrical systems to maximize energy efficiency. Since their introduction, there has been no doubt that buildings with BMSs have been more energy-efficient than those without. According to one estimate, a fully operating BMS can save between 15-20% on energy use.


Sensors, which offer another dimension to data collection in the building, are the greatest method to get the most out of BMS. In three ways, these sensors can enhance the benefits provided by a BMS.

Sensors in the Internet of Things may collect information, like asset temperature, occupancy, and even open doors and windows. In addition, because each of these sensors is built for a specific function, they may be deployed in a targeted manner to collect data that a Building Management System would otherwise overlook.


Because of their ease of use and affordability, Easy, Affordable, and Scalable Sensors are the ideal complement to a BMS. In addition, most wireless sensors provide a quick, simple, and cost-effective solution to add to an existing BMS infrastructure.
