Where Every Project Tells a Story
Pearls Construction

Khaled Hassan, Pearls Construction | Construction Business Review | Top Construction Engineering Management FirmKhaled Hassan, CTO and Managing Member, Moustafa Aly, CEO and Managing Member
For every project there is a story that we narrate — It isn’t just words, it’s who we are. Every project we manage has its own journey, challenges, and wins,” says Khaled Hassan, CTO and Managing Member. “From concept to completion, we don’t just build, we narrate.”

Born from belief and built hand by hand, Pearls Construction grew into a global consultancy shaping projects and people across continents. Behind every structure there is a narrative, and at Pearls, storytelling is our foundation.

When Pearls Construction LLC began in 2017, there were no grand offices or financial backers, only two engineers with a vision that construction could be more meaningful. They believed it could be human, collaborative, and defined by purpose rather than size.

The name, Pearls, carries that same meaning; Rarity and carefully formed over time. From the earliest days, everything about Pearls was intentional: its approach to work, the culture it fostered and the respect it showed to every project it has touched.

From a small beginning in New York, with a single purchase order, the firm has since grown to operate across more than thirty U.S. states, with established offices in Washington, New Mexico, Egypt, and Dubai.

From then on, every opportunity was treated as both a challenge and a privilege. Growth followed naturally as Pearls began attracting engineers who shared the founders’ purpose. They weren’t just joining a company; they were writing a story. That early team set the foundation for professionalism and curiosity that has defined Pearls today.

No project is small or less important. We work on every project with the same dedication and seriousness.

Pearls Construction is a multidisciplinary consulting house that supports contractors, design-builders, and public agencies to deliver integrated project controls. Combining CPM scheduling, BIM, risk management, and safety planning under one responsive and responsible team.

“No project is small or less important. We work on every project with the same dedication and seriousness,” says Khaled. Today, Pearls has served over two hundred clients, most are returning partners, by continuously adapting to their needs and delivering what they value most: peace of mind and confidence.

Pearls grew steadily, while remaining grounded to its founding values of trust, and accountability, and remained centered on what sets Pearls apart; a commitment to people and the belief that every project has a story to tell.

As Pearls’ reputation grew, so did its impact. It was a leap that demonstrated the firm’s ability to scale without ever compromising quality. Each project added to its credibility, and recognition began to take shape quietly, in the words of those who worked with them.

A client in New Jersey noted, “You guys are really good at what you do, most of your schedules get approved right away.”Another in Pennsylvania praised “timely responses and constant support.”

In 2023, Pearls attended the Chicago Build Expo, stepping confidently into a wider professional space. The goal wasn’t visibility, it was connection: strengthening relationships and learning from a changing industry.

Internally, Pearls refined its structure to support expansion while keeping responsiveness at its core. Growth has never meant distance. It means being closer, ensuring that every client feels seen, supported, and understood.

In 2024, Pearls crossed a new threshold by opening their first international office in Dubai. This move reflected not just ambition, but readiness and the capability to serve partners across continents while preserving the same values of collaboration and trust.

By 2025, the firm had expanded its expertise across (16) sectors, from infrastructure and transportation to utilities, treatment plants, and marine works. Through this growth, Pearls has remained grounded in its guiding philosophy: to understand before execution, to build relationships before structures, and narrate stories.

Pearls’ progress isn’t measured by volume or size, but by the continued trust it earns and the consistency it sustains. Its team members hold postgraduate degrees and advanced certifications such as PMP, MBA, and PSP, approaching every assignment with informed strategy, technical precision, and confidence.

“From concept to completion, every project we undertake has its own journey, challenges, and wins — and we make sure that journey is seen, felt, and remembered,” adds Moustafa Aly, CEO and Managing Member.

Precision Planning and Strategic Project Control

Among Pearls’ most notable work is its collaboration with a Design-Build team on accessibility upgrades at one of the oldest and busiest subway stations.

Pearls developed a detailed phasing plan for the station mezzanine, allowing contractor’s maximum access while keeping the station fully operational for the public.

Pearls also created a precise mapping for weekend work zones on the station platform and tracks, coordinating multiple trades to minimize overlap. This strategic sequencing allowed crews to complete more work in less time, improving logistics, reducing conflicts, and enhancing overall safety.

The project reflects Pearls’ approach, thoughtful planning, teamwork, and a respect for both the craft and the community it serves.

Another recent collaboration for a substation renewal, one that required two fully assigned engineers on the job. Pearls scope of work was extensive and unconventional, and the complexity of the project required remarkable adaptability and coordination.

  • From concept to completion, every project we undertake has its own journey, challenges, and wins — and we make sure that journey is seen, felt, and remembered.

Pearls team has played a critical role in consultation and advisory, ensuring the prime contractor presents and confirms all project requirements, including their approach for quality, safety, schedule, risk management, and finance - at major pre-construction and during the weekly Job Progress meetings, with the prime contractor, owner, and subcontractors; where issues surface early, each requiring undivided attention and proper coordination.

The Engineers at Pearls have performed several rounds for the Project’s scheduling from the Phasing Plan through a Preliminary Schedule, which then transformed into an approved Comprehensive Baseline Schedule. Each revision brought new details, operational constraints and regulations that demanded creativity.

Pearls team developed a cost breakdown that aligned with the construction schedule, a forecast cash flow giving the Project manager the clarity needed for confident decision-making. Also in proactive risk management, where stakeholders brainstormed their concerns, past experiences and knowledge of potential delays. Every probability was assessed, risks were defined, potential impacts were measured, and strategies were formulated to either eliminate or mitigate delays.

Raising the Bar with Every Project

Integrity and responsiveness have become part of Pearls’ daily rhythm, building relationships that last long after the projects end.

“It’s our culture and operational backbone. We are creating an environment where quality, responsiveness, and integrity are not just expected but encouraged,” adds Moustafa.

“We operate with a responsive, “one call away” mindset, ensuring that clients across all time zones receive immediate and informed support. Whether in the United States, the UAE, or anywhere else, teams work harmoniously to deliver with efficiency and care,” says Khaled.

Pearls is also a Certified Small Business Enterprise, besides many other public agencies prequalification and recognition. A reflection of how it has maintained agility and close client connections while steadily expanding its presence.

Eight years since its foundation, Pearls Construction continues to grow by staying true to its beginnings. It remains an entity that values relationships and growth without losing its identity and character, one that sees every project as a collaboration and every structure as a story to be told. Its main asset is its people, who shape the way it looks today and pave the road for its future.

The path ahead holds more milestones, but the philosophy remains the same: success is measured not in numbers, but in the trust earned along the way.

Pearls Construction Viewpoints

Crashing is Cashing; Fast Tracking is Dashing.

Mirette Saleeb, Total Quality Manager The Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) defines these approaches clearly: Crashing is adding resources to critical path activities to shorten the schedule without changing the project scope. Fast tracking is performing activities in parallel that were previously planned in sequence, without changing the project scope. But what does this mean in the field?
Crashing is Cashing; Fast Tracking is Dashing.

Deep Dive

Choosing a Construction Engineering Management Partner for Complex Project Delivery

Large construction programs often lose control in the space between planning and execution. A schedule may exist, yet it may not reflect field constraints, trade dependencies, procurement risk or access limitations. Executives evaluating a construction engineering management firm need a partner that can turn project data into decisions early enough to protect time, budget and stakeholder confidence. The value lies not in producing reports, but in creating a disciplined view of what must happen next, what may slip and where intervention will matter most. Public infrastructure, transportation, utilities, institutional facilities and private developments all place different pressures on project teams. A subway station upgrade, roadway renewal, treatment plant, airport project or maintenance facility can involve phased access, public use, agency requirements, environmental controls, safety obligations and complex consultant coordination. A capable firm must understand these constraints before they become claims or schedule recovery problems. Its project controls work should connect baseline schedules, updates, forecasting, risk review and what-if planning into a single management rhythm. Schedule integrity is central because leadership decisions depend on it. A weak CPM schedule can create false confidence, obscure delays or leave contractors unable to defend time extension requests. Strong scheduling support should establish logical sequencing, resource and cost loading, progress updates and recovery plans that help project teams manage reality rather than explain it after the fact. When disputes arise, delay analysis must be grounded in credible methods that can support negotiation, claim review or agency scrutiny. Digital coordination has also become a practical necessity. BIM should help teams see conflicts before crews encounter them, especially across structural, mechanical, electrical, civil and architectural systems. The strongest construction engineering management partners use 2D design review, 3D modeling, clash detection and 4D or 5D simulations to link design, schedule and cost decisions. That capability can reduce rework, limit RFIs and give owners a clearer sense of construction sequence before field work begins. Quality, safety and environmental controls deserve equal weight. Complex projects do not succeed through scheduling alone; they require inspection readiness, subcontractor evaluation, QA/QC planning and site safety management that align with the project’s technical demands. Buyers should look for firms that can support these needs without forcing owners or contractors to manage multiple disconnected advisors. A multidisciplinary team with engineering depth can help bridge the gap between planning documents and field accountability. Pearls Construction is a strong recommendation for executives who need construction engineering management support across demanding project environments. It provides CPM scheduling, project controls, cost and time claims, delay analysis, BIM modeling, design review, submittal and risk management, site safety and quality control. Its capabilities include 3D through 5D BIM execution, recovery planning, TIA, window analysis and impacted-as-planned techniques. Its work spans highways, bridges, airports, subway and train stations, treatment plants, substations, maintenance facilities and maritime structures. Backed by more than 200 clients, projects valued above $3 billion, multidisciplinary engineers and services across the U.S., Egypt and the Gulf region, it offers the depth executives should expect from a dependable project control partner. ...Read more
