Pearls Construction: Where Every Project Tells a Story

Pearls Construction

Where Every Project Tells a Story

For every project there is a story that we narrate — It isn’t just words, it’s who we are. Every project we manage has its own journey, challenges, and wins,” says Khaled Hassan, CTO and Managing Member. “From concept to completion, we don’t just build, we narrate.” Born from belief and built hand by hand, Pearls Construction grew into a global consultancy shaping projects and people across continents. Behind every structure there is a narrative, and at Pearls, storytelling is our foundation. When Pearls Construction LLC began in 2017, there were no grand offices or financial backers, only two engineers with a vision that construction could be more meaningful. They believed it could be human, collaborative, and defined by purpose rather than size. The name, Pearls, carries that same meaning; Rarity and carefully formed over time. From the earliest days, everything about Pearls was intentional: its approach to work, the culture it fostered and the respect it showed to every project it has touched. From a small beginning in New York, with a single purchase order, the firm has since grown to operate across more than thirty U.S. states, with established offices in Washington, New Mexico, Egypt, and Dubai. From then on, every opportunity was treated as both a challenge and a privilege. Growth followed naturally as Pearls began attracting engineers who shared the founders’ purpose. They weren’t just joining a company; they were writing a story. That early team set the foundation for professionalism and curiosity that has defined Pearls today. Pearls Construction is a multidisciplinary consulting house that supports contractors, design-builders, and public agencies to deliver integrated project controls. Combining CPM scheduling, BIM, risk management, and safety planning under one responsive and responsible team. “No project is small or less important. We work on every project with the same dedication and seriousness,” says Khaled. Today, Pearls has served over two hundred clients, most are returning partners, by continuously adapting to their needs and delivering what they value most: peace of mind and confidence. Pearls grew steadily, while remaining grounded to its founding values of trust, and accountability, and remained centered on what sets Pearls apart; a commitment to people and the belief that every project has a story to tell. As Pearls’ reputation grew, so did its impact. It was a leap that demonstrated the firm’s ability to scale without ever compromising quality. Each project added to its credibility, and recognition began to take shape quietly, in the words of those who worked with them. A client in New Jersey noted, “You guys are really good at what you do, most of your schedules get approved right away.”Another in Pennsylvania praised “timely responses and constant support.” In 2023, Pearls attended the Chicago Build Expo, stepping confidently into a wider professional space. The goal wasn’t visibility, it was connection: strengthening relationships and learning from a changing industry.

Top Construction EEO Compliance Management Service 2025

Crescent Consulting

Turning Diversity & Integrity Construction Compliance into Measurable Gains

Rohan deFreitas, Principal and CEO, Luis Segarra, Principal

Effective compliance in construction often means adhering to complex program initiatives, such as meeting diversity goals, fulfilling Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) requirements or ensuring prevailing wage standards. In a highly regulated landscape, project funding and approvals often hinge on these mandates. Crescent Consulting stands as a guardian at this intersection, ensuring compliance requirements are managed in ways that create real working relationships between its clients and the communities they are building in, turning obligations into opportunities and strengthening projects and communities. “We plan compliance from the start of every project, setting goals, identifying partners and bringing the workforce together to meet schedules and prevent penalties,” says Rohan Defreitas, Principal and CEO. Crescent engages with developers, property owners, public agencies, construction management firms and general contractors bound by diversity, EEO and wage requirements. Many of its projects are tied to government funding, agency-related property deals or tax credits that come with specific mandates. It also works with private institutions, including major corporations that set their own inclusion targets on large-scale developments. It works on a range of projects, including infrastructure, commercial and institutional developments, as well as residential housing with both market-rate and affordable units. The company’s scope of work covers a wide portfolio, including airports, hospitals, educational institutions, retail buildings and office buildings. Every project is supported by compliance services and experienced staff that produce positive outcomes and expand opportunities for the people involved. Services cover all compliance obligations in construction. Many projects require contractors to meet Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprise (MWBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOB) participation goals, often set at 30 percent of contract value. It identifies certified firms with the capacity and proven skills to perform the work. Workforce diversity goals, ranging from 35 percent to 60 percent depending on the program, are advanced by engaging Local Unions and recruiting local residents and skilled tradespeople like carpenters, plumbers, electricians and steam fitters. It also guarantees prevailing wage standards are upheld through rigorous monitoring, while site inspections confirm labor integrity practices, such as subcontractors remaining within the disciplines they are certified to perform. Clients can rest assured that compliance is maintained consistently across the board. Crescent’s credibility with agencies and minority and women business networks is second to none, ensuring certified firms are matched to projects with proven reliability. As a result, contractors and developers view compliance as a channel for success rather than a barrier.

Top Aluminum Railing Manufacturer 2025

East & West Alum Craft Ltd

Custom Architectural Aluminum Components for Modern Construction

Paul Zen, co-owner

Joe Zen immigrated to Canada from Italy in the 1950s and got into welding simply because he needed work, says his son, Paul Zen. He applied his skills on pipelines up north, and one night while playing poker with fellow welders. The result was a $5,000 win, which he used to pay off debts and invest in his own business, Pacific Iron Works, in Vancouver. In its early years, Pacific Iron Works focused on steel, the standard material for residential balconies at the time. But in the late 1960s, a salesman from Alcan introduced Joe to aluminum welding. Being a seat-of-the-pants innovator, Joe took on his first aluminum assignment, which proved successful. He quickly realized the advantages: aluminum was faster to cut, easier to weld, and much lighter to lift than steel. This early experiment set the stage for a shift in the industry, laying the foundation for what would eventually become East & West Alum Craft Ltd., a company built on hands-on problem solving, calculated risk, and a commitment to doing the work the right way. Today, the company, under the direction of Co-Owners, Paul and Sergio Zen, has set the standard for how aluminum construction components and railing systems are designed, fabricated, and delivered, combining experience with a drive for constant improvement. The same grit and wisdom is now being transferred to the third generation, providing resilient structures and craftsmanship. “We were taught early on that the hardest thing to pass on to people outside the business is the passion to succeed. We stay hands-on at the factories and put in the hours to make sure our focus never drifts,” says Paul Zen, co-owner. Expanding the Scope of Aluminum Design The shift from steel to aluminum marked more than just a material change. It signaled a new way of thinking about durability, efficiency, and installation. Aluminum proved faster to cut, easier to lift, and better suited to large-scale construction timelines. Convincing the market was not immediate, but over time, East & West helped redefine what builders and architects expected from a railing system. Now the company’s offerings span a range of architectural and structural aluminum components. Glass railings remain a staple, available in configurations including offset glass, post-mounted panels, and mixed horizontal-bar designs. Aluminum picket railings provide extensive flexibility in style, with multiple options for picket size, shape, and finish. Powder-coated trellises offer a durable, lightweight alternative to traditional steel or wood. East & West also fabricates custom gates and larger structural assemblies designed to meet the demands of commercial and multi-residential projects.
